Burnham taxi number: one call, 24 hours a day
Save one number for every Burnham journey: the High Street, Burnham station, Burnham Beeches or a Heathrow run. The fare is fixed before the car sets off.
Most people looking up a Burnham taxi number need a car soon, so the number is at the top of this page and it is answered around the clock. The rest of the page covers what to have ready when you call, the Burnham pickup points our drivers already know by name, and when booking online makes more sense than ringing.
What to have ready when you call
A booking takes under a minute if you have four things to hand: where you are, where you're going, when you want to leave, and how many people and bags are travelling. For an airport run, add the flight number and terminal. For Heathrow that matters more than people expect, because Terminal 5 sits on its own spur and Terminals 2 and 3 are reached through the tunnel, so a driver who only hears "Heathrow" may have to double back. We read the fare back to you on the call. It's fixed at that point and doesn't change with traffic on the A4 or the M4.
Burnham pickup points we know by name
You don't need a house number for the places Burnham people get picked up from most. Tell the operator any of these and the driver will know where to stop:
- Burnham station: south of the A4 off Burnham Lane, over a mile from the High Street. Visitors often get this wrong, so say "the station" rather than "Burnham" if that's where you are.
- The High Street and Church Street: by St Peter's Church and the shops, for evenings out and short hops home.
- Burnham Grammar School on Hogfair Lane: school-run pickups and late collections after clubs and fixtures.
- Lord Mayor's Drive at Burnham Beeches: the main car park and café area. Mobile signal fades once you're under the trees, so book your return before you walk in.
- Lent Rise Road: the parade of shops on the village's southern side.
- Taplow station: often the easier station for the Hitcham side of Burnham, and served by the same stopping trains.
Call or book online?
Ring the number if you need a car in the next hour, your plans are still changing, or the pickup is somewhere awkward that's easier to describe out loud, like a field gate on the Dropmore road or the back entrance of a business unit. Book online if you're arranging something days ahead, such as an early Heathrow departure or a regular school run, and want the details in writing. Both go to the same dispatch, and the fare is fixed either way.
Two numbers, one dispatch
You'll see two phone numbers on this site. Both go through to the same 24-hour dispatch team, so use whichever one is already in your phone. If one is busy at a peak time, such as Friday evening or a weekday morning when trains are cancelled, the other gets you to a dispatcher.
Save it before you need it
The calls we get from people who don't have the number saved usually come at the worst moment. Someone steps off a late train at Burnham station to find no cars waiting. A walker comes out of the Beeches at dusk with one bar of signal. A parent finds the after-school club has finished early. Saving the number takes ten seconds and saves the search later. If you travel through Heathrow regularly, our guide to the Burnham to Heathrow run by time of day is worth reading once too.
What happens after you call
The operator confirms the pickup point, the time and the fixed fare, then assigns a licensed driver. For an immediate local job, a car is usually with you in 10 to 15 minutes. That depends on the time of day and how busy Slough and the A4 are. For a pre-booked airport run, the driver arrives at the agreed time, and for pickups from the airport we track your flight, so a delayed landing doesn't leave you paying for waiting time. For everything else we run from the village, including vehicle sizes and airport routes, see our Burnham taxi service page. The general taxi in Burnham page has local coverage and road notes.
