Slough town centre runs on a one-way system that catches out anyone who doesn't drive it daily — miss the turn off Wellington Street and you can end up looping past the bus station again before you find your way back to the High Street. Bath Road cuts across the top of town and feeds the trading estate, where shift changes at the big distribution and tech sites send a steady flow of bookings at times most taxi firms have gone quiet, six in the morning and eleven at night included.
