Events and hospitality | U Want Taxi

Weddings, race days and corporate hospitality all share the same problem: getting a group of people to one place at one time, and then home again at an hour that isn't fixed until the event actually finishes. We book these as a single coordinated job — one or several cars, one point of contact, one return time confirmed on the day.

A wedding usually needs more than one car — the couple, the wedding party, and guests without their own transport all need to move between a ceremony, photos and a reception, often at different venues on the same day. We plan the timings against the order of service rather than a single generic pickup slot, and coordinate several cars under one booking so nobody's left working out logistics on the day itself.

Ascot is close enough to our coverage area that race days are a regular booking, both for a single group heading to a fixture and for larger corporate parties. Race day traffic around Ascot is heavier and slower than a normal day, especially on Gold Cup week and other major meetings, and pickup times are set with that in mind rather than assuming the roads will be clear.

Corporate hospitality bookings tend to involve a fixed arrival time that matters — a box at a sporting fixture, a client event with a set start — and a return time that's genuinely unknown until the event winds down. We agree the outbound time exactly and stay in contact for the return, rather than booking a fixed return slot that assumes everyone leaves the moment the last course is cleared.

For any event needing more than one car, we coordinate the whole group as a single booking rather than several unconnected ones — same pickup window, same destination, and drivers who know they're part of the same job rather than four separate fares that happen to be going the same way. That matters most on the return leg, when a group leaving an event together wants to leave together too, not staggered across whoever's car turns up first.

As with our airport work, the price for an event booking is agreed in advance for the whole job, not per car worked out separately, and a fixed pickup time is confirmed for the outbound leg. For the return, tell us your best estimate when you book and we'll stay in touch on the day so the cars are there when the event actually ends, not when the invitation said it would.

Evening events — awards dinners, Christmas parties, an after-race dinner that runs later than the meeting itself — work the same way. Book the outbound leg for a fixed time, give us a rough idea of when things might wrap up, and we treat the return as a live booking on the night rather than a fixed slot that assumes everyone leaves on schedule.

Whatever the occasion, the same principle applies: one booking covers the whole group, the outbound time is fixed, and the return is treated as flexible rather than guessed at months in advance when nobody yet knows how the day will actually run. Tell us the number of cars and the rough shape of the day when you first get in touch, and we'll work out the rest with you closer to the date.
